Founders of the Zbigniew Seifert Foundation:
Janusz Stefanski
He was one of Europe's leading jazz drummers. For more than 50 years of his career, he collaborated with the most important figures in Polish and international jazz. Among others, he played in the legendary Tomasz Stanko's Quintet, Zbigniew Seifert's Quartet, Zbigniew Namysłowski's Quartet, the famous The Quartet and the émigré group Polish Jazz Ensemble.

Foundation Objectives:

Promotion of Zbigniew Seifert
Promotion of the work of Zbigniew Seifert, one of Poland's most important jazz musicians, through the organization of, among other things, concerts in Poland and abroad, an international competition named after Zbigniew Seifert

Presentation of young artists
Promotion of young musicians playing improvised music on stringed instruments. The foundation's flagship project is an international competition - the Seifert Competition.

Organization of concerts in Poland and abroad
The Foundation also supports young artists by organizing concerts at home and abroad. The Seifert Night series presents Polish musicians at festivals in Germany, Serbia and the UK, among others.

Foundation Board:
The Zbigniew Seifert Foundation was established in 2010 on the initiative of Aneta Norek and Professor Janusz Stefanski. Janusz Stefanski, an outstanding Polish percussionist (1946-2016), was a friend of Zbyszek Seifert.
