Atom String Quartet in Germany
2025-06-29Atom String Quartet tour in Germany

In autumn in Germany, music without borders will sound - the Atom String Quartet, one of the most original ensembles on the European jazz scene, will play. Their concerts are a meeting of classical precision with the freedom of improvisation, as well as a tribute to the greatest personalities of Polish jazz.
The team joins forces again with Zbigniew Seifert Foundation , with whom he has worked for years on concert and educational projects. This time the Atom String Quartet will perform four concerts in Germany, presenting repertoire from the album "Seifert" - a unique album dedicated to the work of the outstanding Polish jazz violinist Zbigniew Seifert.
The concerts promise to be an extraordinary musical event, in which Seifert's spirit - full of courage, expression and artistic freedom - will sound anew in the interpretation of one of the most important string quartets of the contemporary jazz scene.

Atom String Quartet is one of the few string quartets in the world moving freely in the world of jazz. The ensemble consists of violinists Dawid Lubowicz and Mateusz Smoczynski, violist Michal Zaborski and cellist Krzysztof Lenczowski. Their music is a fusion of classical, jazz, folk music and contemporary improvisation. For years they have been performing on prestigious stages in Poland and abroad, earning praise from critics and audiences alike.
In 2017, the Atom String Quartet released the album "Seifert," a musical tribute to Zbigniew Seifert - an outstanding Polish jazz violinist who revolutionized the way the instrument is played. The album features the quartet's own arrangements of his compositions, demonstrating the group's extraordinary emotionality and artistic maturity. For the members of the quartet, Seifert's work remains a constant inspiration - his courage in crossing genre boundaries and technical virtuosity are an important point of reference in their musical journey.
