Notes
Original title: "Jazz-Konzert für Geige, Sinfonieorchester und Rhytmusgruppe (Jazz - Concerto for Violin, Symphony Orchestra and Rhytmicgroup".
It was compiled by Mateusz Smoczynski, and published by the Zbigniew Seifert Foundation.
The piece was premiered in 1976 in Hannover. The piece was played again in 2009 during the Zbigniew Seifert in Memoriam festival on the 30th anniversary of the musician's death.

Thanks to his ongoing collaboration with Wolfgang Dauner, Zbigniew Seifert periodically recorded his own works, as well as compositions by other respected artists, for the NDR radio station in Hanover. The producer of these recordings, Wolfgang Kunert, suggested Seifert write a more extensive composition, and this is how the idea for the Jazz Concerto for violin, symphony orchestra and rhythm group, which Seifert composed in 1974, was born. The recording of Zbigniew Seifert's composition took place between August 26 and 30, 1974 in Hanover. The time of the recorded recording is 25'45".
The first performance of the concert had just taken place in the studio of the NDR radio station, and the ensemble played as follows: Zbigniew Seifert - violin, Joachim Kühn - piano, Eberhard Weber - double bass, Daniel Humair - drums, Mladen Gutesha - conductor, Rundfunkorchester Hannover des NDR.
The concerto was performed by Seifert only this one time in August 1974. The next public presentation of this work took place on November 5, 2009, on the 30th anniversary of Zbigniew Seifert's death, during the Zbigniew Seifert in Memoriam festival in Cracow. The performers of the concert were Mateusz Smoczynski - violin, Joachim Kühn - piano, Bronislaw Suchanek - double bass, Janusz Stefanski - percussion, and the Krakow Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Bohdan Jarmołowicz.
Mateusz Smoczynski later performed Seifert's concerto on a number of occasions, and his presentation on November 4, 2018 at the NOSPR in Katowice is particularly worth mentioning here. Seifert's composition was then performed by: Mateusz Smoczynski - violin, Joachim Kühn - piano, Slawomir Kurkiewicz - double bass, Michal Miśkiewicz - percussion, and the National Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra in Katowice conducted by Alexander Humala. The same evening also featured the world premiere of Mateusz Smoczynski's Adam's Apple violin concerto.
