The best of Polish Jazz
The Zbigniew Seifert Foundation was established in 2010 to, on the one hand, popularize the achievements of its patron, on the other hand, to support young artists playing improvised music on stringed instruments, and on the third hand, to promote Polish jazz abroad.

The year 2021 would have been Seifert's 75th birthday, and it was a landmark year for our institution. Against the odds caused by the pandemic, we managed to organize the 1st edition of the Seifert Jazz Days festival. We also inaugurated the extensive Seifert Night - the best of Polish Jazz project. And Belgrade Jazz Festival is our first Partner on this path. We are proud that it is in Belgrade that such a significant presentation of the achievements of the Polish jazz scene will take place. And all this under the patronage and with Seifert's name at the forefront.
Zbigniew Seifert is one of the most prominent figures in Polish jazz, as well as one of the most important figures in world jazz violin. An artist who, despite his short life (1946-1979), uncompromisingly pursued the realization and authentic presentation of his music. Unfortunately, his body of work is not huge, we can only rejoice in the fact that the value of his legacy is timeless.
On October 28, 2021, as part of Seifert Night @ Belgrade Jazz Festival, the audience heard the following bands: the Marcin Wasilewski Trio feat. Joe Lovano, the Mateusz Smoczyński Trio and the Piotr Damasiewicz Trio.
