Atom String Quartet on UK tour
On September 8, 2023, the Atom String Quartet began a tour of the United Kingdom. The Polish jazz quartet, which enjoys great recognition in the British Isles, performed in London, Birmingham and Leeds. Organized by the Zbigniew Seifert Foundation, the tour was held as part of the Seifert Night series.

The Atom String Quartet will perform as follows:

The Atom String Quartet is one of the world's most intriguing string quartets, and ranks among the best jazz performers in Poland. The ensemble combines the capabilities of a string quartet with widely understood improvisation. In its work - in addition to jazz - one can hear inspiration from Polish folklore, music from various regions of the world, as well as contemporary and classical music. The quartet was formed in 2010 in Warsaw, and is made up of violinists Dawid Lubowicz and Mateusz Smoczynski, violist Michal Zaborski and cellist Krzysztof Lenczowski. The band has recorded five original albums, two of which received the Polish recording industry's "Fryderyk" award. The band's latest album, titled. "PENDRECKI" was released in 2019, and features original arrangements of Krzysztof Penderecki's compositions for improvising string quartet. Its publisher is the Mieczyslaw Karlowicz Philharmonic Orchestra in Szczecin. The quartet has collaborated with such artists as: Branford Marsalis, Bobby McFerrin, Gil Goldstein, Vladislav "Adzik" Sendecki, Mino Cinelu, Paolo Fresu, Leszek Możdżer, Lars Danielsson, Zohar Fresco, Jerzy Maksymiuk, André Ochodlo, Urszula Dudziak, Anna Maria Jopek, Marek Moś, Natalia Kukulska, Kayah, Aga Zaryan, Janusz Olejniczak, Krzesimir Dębski, Adam Sztaba, Grzech Piotrowski, Krzysztof Herdzin, Andrzej Smolik, as well as ensembles: AUKSO Chamber Orchestra of the City of Tychy, NFM Orchestra Leopoldinum, Sinfonia Varsovia, Sinfonietta Cracovia, Radom Chamber Orchestra, Szczecin Philharmonic Orchestra, Elbląg Chamber Orchestra, Grzech Piotrowski's World Orchestra, Sinfonia Viva, Sebastian Karpiel-Bułecki's Highlander Band.
